Stop your political promiscuity, Charly Boy tells Atiku Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/12/stop-political-promiscuity-charly-boy-tells-atiku/

ABUJA – Maverick Nigerian entertainer cum activist, Charles Oputa, popularly called Charly Boy, has asked former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, to stop his apparent political promiscuity and focus on joining hands with well-meaning Nigerians to take the country out of mediocrity.

Charly Boy and Atiku Abubakar He also lamented President Muhammadu Buhari’s seeming lethargy in the face of massive corruption going on within his government. The 66-year-old grandfather stated these, on Wednesday, in a new video he made available to journalists in Abuja. The video came barely 24 hours after Atiku stormed the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters to pay a courtesy visit to the national leadership of the Party and to also demonstrate his return after a three-year sojourn to the All Progressives Congress (APC). During the visit, the former Vice President called on former PDP members, who left the party with him, to also return. Among those who left the PDP with Atiku were Senate President Bukola Saraki, Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi; Senators Rabiu Kwankwanso, Danjuma Goje, Aliyu Wamakko, among others, now holding prominent positions in the All Progressives Congress, APC-led government. In the video, Charly Boy said, “I am mad; raving mad. I am about to go mad or am I mad? “How come the blind are leading the sighted, the uninformed are leading the wise, and the unskilled directing the skilled? “No! What is happening? I am mad; raving mad at the mediocrity of leadership; the promotion of impunity and political promiscuity. “Listen, let me tell you something. PDP and APC are all the same thieves and rogues called politicians. “Look at Atiku, running from pillar to post; From PDP to PHD; from APC to CNN to BBC. Come on, stop that break-dancing! “I am mad that corruption is killing us and Buhari is watching. I am not surprised because under his bed, there’s corruption; within his household, there is corruption; even in his ‘other’ room, there is corruption. Buhari kill corruption before it kills us all. “Young men and women be on the alert because I know that our foolishness has reached its peak.”

Officials of the Ministry of Health in Ondo State on Tuesday shut down a clinic believed to be operated by a quack doctor.

Officials of the Ministry of Health in Ondo State on Tuesday shut down a clinic believed to be operated by a quack doctor identified as Adewale Owolanke.

The clinic, which was located at Uso town in the Owo Local Government Area of  the state, was shut down during the monitoring exercise carried out by the Ondo State Hospital Services and led by the Director in the department, Dr Olayinka Akinsete.

Commenting on the development, Akinsete explained that the ministry had been receiving reports about the quack doctor, performing surgical operations on innocent patients in the community.

He said, “There was a report signifying a high fatality rate in the hospital and when we got here today (Tuesday) , the place was initially locked up.

“It, however, eventually opened later. We saw all the instruments that he (the quack doctor ) had been using. We saw that he had been performing many surgeries, including Caesarean Section. Yet he denied it.

“He could not show us any certificate to prove that he is a doctor. We have closed down the place and other things will follow.”

The government official declared that the alleged quack doctor would be investigated alongside some certified medical doctors suspected to be working with him.

However, the suspect, Owolanke, said he was trained at the America Barbados University before returning to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City, where he is currently undergoing his clinicals.

He confessed to carrying out surgery in the hospital without a licence and claimed to have closed down the theatre. According to him, a particular certified medical doctor was assisting him.

Reacting to the incident, Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association, Ondo State chapter, Dr Dolani Gbelela, described the incident as unfortunate, saying “it is getting clearer that those identified as quacks are being  aided by certified doctors.”

He noted that the NMA was interfacing with the monitoring unit of the ministry and government to tackle such challenges.

Gbelela urged the government listen to advice from the NMA on the issue of quackery in the medical profession.
