**FINALLY.....JAMB Candidates Yet To Get Their Results Are Not Qualified To Get it Now - JAMB Boss

The current JAMB Registrar, Prof Oloyede has said that the results of candidates identified in footage of Close Circuit Television (CCTV) to have indulge in unwholesome practices during the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will not be released.

The JAMB Registrar made this known during an interview on Channels Television.

According to him, the board has been busy reviewing the recorded footages of the exam across the country and a number of candidates will be punished.

“Those who have not received their results are qualified not to receive for now. In all cases where there were no problems, we released results of the examination within 24 hours. “But those who have not received their results, they may not be culpable but we are investigating.

Where we have reason to doubt anything or where we have report of anything that is not acceptable to us, we have withheld the results. “And we will keep on releasing them as we clear them. For instance, this morning, we released another 15,000 results. But among those who sat in that centre, we have reasons, concrete evidence to say about 300 of them, their results will not be released because we know they were not in the hall where the examination took place."

“We are comparing those who sat for the examination, how long they sat in the hall, and how some of them took excuses that they were going to the toilet only to go to what they called VIP. “All this we are now able to track. And we want to say that we will not hesitate to sanction anybody no matter how highly placed.” He stated.

Pinnick says environment problem in administering Nigerian football

Amaju Pinnick, President, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), says that administering football in the country is not difficult but having the right environment to do it is the problem.
Pinnick made the assertion in a statement by John Mayaki, the Chief Press Secretary to the Edo Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Saturday in Benin.
The statement said that Pinnick spoke at a dinner hosted by the Edo Government on Friday to honour him on his elevation into the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Board and FIFA.
According to Pinnick, the country has persons with football experiences and those interested in repositioning the game but the right environment to do so is difficult to come by.
“If we have the required support and sponsorship, we will create the enabling environment for Nigerian football to develop.
“I want to say that I have members of the NFF executive committee that believe in my vision and mission to develop and propel Nigerian football to the highest level politically or otherwise.
“I will say today that running Nigerian football is not difficult but it is the environment that is difficult.
“We have the caliber of people, so it is just the environment that is difficult but by the grace of God, we are getting it right,’’ the statement said.
“We have secured a sponsorship in the history of Nigeria that none has secured, at least for the next five years, you will not hear again that our coaches are being owed.

HISTORY OF CHILDREN DAY IN NIGERIA, reasons behind the celebration

CHILDREN’S DAY is one dedicated to celebrate “childhood”, it is On this day that tribute is paid to all children in the world.
Children are loved by one and all and they win over our hearts with their angelic eyes and innocent smiles.
Children’s Day is an event celebrated in many places around the world. The holiday is simply set to honour children and minors.
The International Children’s Day had its origin in Turkey in 1920 (April 23, 1920) and later in the World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva, Switzerland in 1925.
Children’s Day was first celebrated worldwide in October 1955, under the sponsorship of International Union for Child Welfare in Geneva.
The idea of a Universal Children’s Day was mooted by Rubab Mansoor grade 8 and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954.
First proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954, it was established to encourage all countries to institute a day, firstly to promote mutual exchange and understanding among children and secondly to initiate action to benefit and promote the welfare of the world’s children.
It was also chosen as the day to celebrate childhood. Generally, children get all excited and eagerly await the day.
All the local schools go to their local stadium where each school has a special march which they perform.
The school with the best marching performance wins the honour for that year.
May 27 is traditionally the Children’s Holiday in Nigeria. First established by the United Nations in 1964, the day remains important in the lives of many Nigerian kids.
On this day every year, children are granted a holiday while several social activities are centered on them. Excused from school, most kids converge at stadiums and centers to commemorate the event.
It has also become the habit of some government officials and media organisations to honour some children with leadership opportunities.
Certain radio and TV stations do this by featuring child broadcasters on air and letting them anchor their programmes for the early part of the day.
Furthermore, information from UNICEF as at 2010 states that 6,332,000 childbirths occur in Nigeria annually. This shows how important they are in Nigeria’s national statistics.
One would wonder then if parents should not strive to ensure good parenting.
When parents are seriously busy, children can often spend more time with unpredictable maids, unrated media content and their peers than with their parents. This often instills bad influences into their lives and is the cause of misconduct.
As we celebrate another children’s day, parents should sincerely evaluate their parent-child relationships.
If in doubt that their efforts are adequate or that the children are heading in the right direction, they should make proper amendments.
They should do these things knowing that vagabonds do not grow from the soil and neither do terrorists fall from the sky.

ADVICE FOR STUDENTS SEEKING ADMISSION.

A school of thought believes ‘it doesn’t matter what you study, just get a good grade and jobs will find you out’. The other believes the only courses worth studying are ‘professional courses’. Now, if you have to know my own view on this, I will gladly go for the first school of thought. To back my reason for choosing the first school of thought, let me ask a question: how many professionals from these professional courses are graduated every year from all the tertiary institutions in Nigerian and still looking for employment? The answer to this question will be so discouraging for those who still believe that the only courses worth studying are ‘professional courses’. We still have graduates from these professional courses being the ones most unemployed due to the competitions they face both inside and outside school (labor market).
Note: This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go for the professional courses, even I; I’m studying a professional course. But all I am trying to say is that, if gaining admission by all means without getting involved in examination malpractice is what you seek, then you should forget about the professional courses due to their high competitiveness. Alternatively, another way to get admitted to a professional course is to apply to a less competitive school that offers that professional course you chose.
